Chief's park visit

Hello everyone! The Chief Constable of South Yorkshire Police visited Stannington park earlier today to meet the volunteers of Action for Stannington. Members of Action for Stannington and David Crompton discussed several subjects for example; past and present funding for the park,  problems the carnival organisers are facing and whether there is future for the Community support officers. He was also took on a detailed walk around the park and told the Volunteers of how well kept the area was, much to the appreciation of the organisation and the residents.

David Crompton assured the group and the Community Support Officers's present, that their were no jobs at risk by the cutbacks enforced, also that they are highly likely to get more police powers and therefore have a higher efficiency while giving the same, if not better, service to the local community. Also the carnival might not be having its usual parade. The organisers were told that members of the police force are not going to allow the road to be closed. This could mean that the parade is significantly shorter, but despite this, is looking to be bigger than ever!
