Jessica Ennis Wins Gold

Jessica Ennis, Sheffield's very own heptathlete has been given huge praise after her sensational medal-winning performance this weekend. Sheff Council leader Julie Dore said that, "The whole of Sheffield is buzzing with excitement and is filled with pride for our Olympic champion, Jessica Ennis," how right she is. I am sure many Sheffielders have been supporting the local hero throughout the Olympics and saw her through the epic victory beating Jessica Zelinka and Tatyana Chernova in the Womens Heptathlon.

Her first coach Mick Thompson had stated that "You can’t get better than this,”  when interviewed by one of The Stars reporters when the event had finished. After her disappointment of having to miss the Beijing Olympics in 2008 due to stress fractures to her right ankle she fought on to give us another gold medal, in perhaps the best performances of our Olympic history, so far...
